..But the GT was a little out of my price range. I had no idea that the Ford dealership in my little podunk hometown had turned into classic car Mecca.
I was
thisclose
to writing the dealer guy a check for this ‘98 A8. Had some weird body damage on the driver’s side doors, but for 3 Grand, who cares? It was a hoot to drive, though. I seriously considered buying it and driving it back to TX and skipping the flight home, just for the sake of a good story.
And then at the Ford dealer, I went for a VERY nice drive in this black Mustang 5.0:
I gotta say, I’m sold. I really want one. But not in black— graphite or white, please.
Speaking of white Mustangs:
Love the drip holes on the exhaust. Nice touch.
Oh, and they just happen to have an unrestored ‘68 Shelby for sale. Y’know. Signed. No big deal.
Oh, and this one... it’s about 750 RWHP.
And, finally, some more of that GT:
I got to educate the sales guy about the GT... he didn’t really know very much about it.
Overall, a pretty fun afternoon.

I think $kay is planning a daring heist right now.

The owner of this one put in some bigger speakers and a McIntosh head unit. The Mc actually looked pretty sweet in there, though the subwoofer, classily done as it was, between the seats, was not to my taste.

That GT is immaculate! Has it even been driven at all?

Ah speedway you must have been around the midwest

I thought the GTs had an Orem Sub between the seats. I couldn’t find a good pick but in this video you can see it there. Also that head unit may have been Oem as well, as the Amp was made by the same company. It's certinly not something you expect to see in a car like this though.

What’s with the tiny wheels on the black Mustang at the gas pump?

How much were they asking for that Shelby?

I wondered that, too. Thought it was an Ecoboost at first glance.

Huh, no shit? Well, then. I guess I learned something, too. The interior wasn’t done when I worked at Ford.

Someone buying a base model could have wanted the GT wheels and the service guys crossed their fingers the wheels would fit over GT brakes.

Those are the base GT wheels I do believe.

Same wheels as mine had stock.

Yep! But not very much.

I *think* $125K? Could be wrong. Didn’t exactly have a window sticker.

Wow, for an unrestored one? That seems high.

Well, it is signed by the man himself.

I’ve got a 66 Mustang visor signed by him — I’ll let that go for $10k! lol

All you gotta do is find the right buyer.
